None of these are edited.
Not one, but TWO Mclaren HS’s.
I talk smack about how boring McLarens are, but in person they are so stunning.
Not necessarily interesting McLarens, but I liked these photos. Anyway, let’s move on to the other cars.
To all exotic owners: don’t park with the lift up. Please.
Oh lord.
Rarity.
Stereotypical Ferrari engine photo.
I interrupt the scheduled programming with a frickin’ refreshed R350.
Never thought I’d say it, but I appreciate the fog now. Such a great addition to photos.
A prime example of “they don’t make ‘em like they used to.”
Special edition Aventadors are my fave.
The Stradman’s Gallardo. I don’t watch his videos but it looks cool.
How he didn’t scrape, I’ll never know.
I end this photodump with an...interesting California T.

Sweet heavens. What lens do you use?

Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art. It’s quite heavy, but it gets the job done.

I’m looking into getting a prime lens for my Nikon as a first lens, trying to decide between a 35mm or 50mm. Got a suggestion? Have you found autofocus to be terribly important because the non-AF 50mm lens is half the price of the AF-S one for my camera.

Is your camera APS-C? If it is, get the 35; if it isn’t, get the 50.
Personally, I rely on autofocus quite heavily, but use manual focus a lot as well, since this Sigma lens has a tendency to focus improperly. For stills, autofocus isn’t necessary, but is nice to have since manually focusing with a prime seems to be a bit tougher for some reason. Or maybe it’s my eyes.
If you take or plan to take action and panning shots, get a lens with autofocus. If Nikon is anything like Canon, autofocus should be pretty quick.

I have a Nikon D3100, so yes it’s APS-C. The trouble with it is it relies on autofocus motors built into the lens rather than the camera so I’ve noticed wildly varying autofocus performance between lenses. My 55-300, for example, will focus quickly at anything below 270, but at full zoom it refuses to focus at all. Meanwhile my kit lens takes a geological epoch to figure out where the hell it wants to focus at. Having used my 55-300 for shooting cars at autocross I definitely will be wanting the 35mm because the crop factor of the sensor makes fitting a car in frame a “walk across the parking lot and hope nobody gets in your way” sort of song and dance.
And the 35mm only comes in autofocus variants so... guess that’s my mind made up for me, lol.

That autofocus setup sounds so strange.

It’s incredibly frustrating. “Let’s make the body cheap by not giving it an AF motor and making a new line of lenses with AF motors built into them! YAY BEANCOUNTING!” but I’ve found Nikon entry-level DSLRs to be better than the equivalent Canon, and conversely high-end Canon hardware seems to wipe the floor with Nikon. My dad’s girlfriend has a 7D as a backup shooter and a full-frame Canon of some description as a main shooter. I used it once. I need it, but my car cost less than her setup did.
